Arif Pishkin, born on November 30, 1970, is a prominent Turkish actor and theatre instructor, known for his versatile talents in both fields. Aside from his acting endeavors, Pishkin has also dedicated himself to nurturing young talents through his role as a theatre instructor since 1999.
Born in Istanbul in 1970, Arif Pishkin spent his formative years in the vibrant city, completing his primary, secondary, and high school education there.
In 1990, he embarked on his journey into the world of performing arts by enrolling in the Department of Performing Arts at Anadolu University State Conservatory in Eskişehir.
Throughout his time at the conservatory, Pishkin showcased his acting prowess in various productions, including notable performances in plays such as “Hamlet,” “Night of Summer Turnover,” “Zortlangalı,” “Istanbul Efendi,” “Sunlight,” and “Visit in the Moonlight.”
After graduating from the conservatory in 1994, Pishkin co-founded the Eskişehir Heyatora Company, where he actively participated in the production of plays.
His association with the Eskişehir Theatre Anatolia lasted from 1999 to 2015, during which he contributed significantly to the local theatre scene.
Pishkin’s talent transcends the stage, as he has also made notable appearances in various films and television series, including “Salvation,” “Valley of Wolves Ambush,” “Bridge,” and “Battle of the Roses.”
Notably, his portrayal of the character “Özkan” in the series “Do Not Rule the World” garnered him widespread acclaim and recognition among audiences.
Following his tenure in Eskişehir, Pishkin relocated to Istanbul in 1999, where he began sharing his expertise as a lecturer at the Theater Department of Anadolu University State Conservatory, a role he held until 2017.
Subsequently, he joined the faculty of Yeditepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Theatre, where he served as a lecturer for two years, earning accolades for his contributions to the field.
Pishkin’s commitment to fostering creativity led him to collaborate with esteemed institutions such as DasDas and the Play Workshop, further solidifying his influence in the theatrical landscape of Istanbul.
