Interesting Facts About Josh Gad
Gad graduated from the University School of Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 1999, an independent college preparatory school in Davie, Florida. He then pursued his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in drama from the Carnegie Mellon College of Fine Arts (CFA) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, graduating in 2003. Additionally, he participated in a semester-long exchange program at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Australia.
He began dating actress, writer, and producer Ida Darvish in 2007, and the couple tied the knot on May 10, 2008. Together, they share two daughters, Isabella Eve Gad (born February 17, 2014), and Ava Tanya Gad (born August 3, 2011).
During his time at NSU, Gad won the National Forensics League (NFL) National Tournament Championships twice, showcasing his talents in both ‘Original Oratory’ and ‘Humorous Interpretation and Original Oratory’.
At Carnegie Mellon CFA, Gad was classmates with future Broadway stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Rory O’Malley. He drew inspiration from O’Malley’s quirky mannerisms for his portrayal of Olaf in the Frozen film franchise.
Gad briefly joined the iconic American late-night talk and news satire TV program The Daily Show in May 2009 as a correspondent, but his tenure was short-lived, lasting only until the end of June of the same year.
