Veloso’s acting career spans various films, including “Kabayo Kids” (1990), “Buddy en Sol (Sine Ito!)” (1992), and “M & M: The Incredible Twins” (1989).
His debut film was “Working Girls” under VIVA Films in 1984, where he portrayed a security guard in a bank office.
Veloso also ventured into television hosting, taking over as the host of “AgriSiyete” after the late comedian Bert Marcelo in 1996. He also appeared in educational programs like “Batibot” and “K-High,” portraying a grandfather figure.
He is the founder and director of the musical stage play “Martir sa Golgota,” a senakulo or passion play launched in 1979, traditionally held every Holy Week in Manila.
Veloso served as councilor of the 6th district of Manila from 1995 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2013. He ran for vice mayor in the 2013 midterm elections under the Liberal Party but lost to incumbent Vice Mayor Isko Moreno.
In 2016, he ran for councilor under KABAKA but was unsuccessful, placing eighth in the elections.
He made a successful return to the city council in 2019, running under the Team Legacy ticket of PMP led by Mayor Joseph Estrada. In the year 2022, he was re-elected under Asenso Manileño.
Notably, Veloso authored a resolution in 1996 advocating for the renovation of the Manila City Hall’s Clock Tower. The renovation project commenced years later and was eventually completed, culminating in the inauguration of the Manila Clock Tower Museum in 2022.
