• In Canada, Carroll honed his craft at the Orion Theater alongside fellow student Robert Goulet. Relocating to Hollywood in 1956 to work for NBC as a writer and producer, he later found himself drafted into the US Army. He performed with the 6th Army Chorus and the Armed Forces Radio Service.

• In 1959, adopting the professional name Eddie Carroll, he released a comedy album titled “On Fraternity Row.” Additionally, he co-wrote the song “How Is Julie?” recorded by The Lettermen in 1962.

• Throughout the early 1960s, Carroll made appearances in numerous television programs and commercials.

• He collaborated with business partner Jamie Farr to create and syndicate a sports-talk program titled “Man to Man.” This was succeeded by their joint effort on a Saturday morning animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera called The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan.
