In the early 1990s, Polaha’s journey into acting began at the Robert Louis Stevenson boarding school in Pebble Beach, California. Introduced to acting as an after-school activity, he developed a passion for it under the mentorship of drama teacher Hamish Tyler.
After honing his skills at the school, Polaha pursued advanced acting techniques at NYU’s Tisch School of Arts, graduating in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in arts.
Starting his career with off-Broadway productions, Polaha caught the attention of critics with roles in plays like ‘Ragtime Revue,’ ‘The Long Days Journey Into Night,’ ‘Bread & Butter,’ and ‘Uncle Vanya.’
On September 11, 2001, Polaha auditioned for and secured roles in ‘That’s Life’ and ‘Angel.’ Despite the tragic backdrop of 9/11, his career gained momentum with appearances in series like ‘Roswell’ and ‘Birds of Prey’ and the film ‘Home Base.’
Polaha’s career trajectory included portraying a main role in the prime-time soap opera ‘North Shore’ (2004).
The actor’s notable association with Hallmark began in 2015 with the crime-comedy series ‘Castle.’ His involvement expanded to starring in Hallmark movies, starting with ‘Dater’s Handbook’ (2016) alongside Meghan Markle, leading to a streak of five movies in three years.
In 2016, Polaha executive produced the short film ‘Frontman’ and received the ‘Jury Award for Best Actor’ at the Seattle Shorts Film Festival for his lead role in the film.
Kristoffer Polaha married actress Julianne Morris in 2003, and the couple has three sons: Kristoffer Caleb, Micah, and Jude. Polaha’s faith journey involved a sabbatical from prayer in high school, exploration of other religions, and a return to Christianity after a near-death experience.
Polaha is set to appear in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ alongside Gal Gadot and continues his involvement in the ‘Mystery 101’ series.
